Alessandro has twenty years’ experience in top tier business & information technology consulting organisations and is passionate about new technologies such as cognitive (artificial intelligence), robotic process automation and the internet of things and its real-world application to achieve economic and social benefit.
His key skills are sales, solutioning and delivery management of cognitive (artificial intelligence) strategies and solutions, large complex digital transformations, enterprise information strategies & implementations, big data and data warehousing – leveraging design thinking (agile) practices.
He has strong credibility, delivery and management skills, based on an ability to develop and maintain relationships with customers at all levels combined with a deep and broad knowledge of the underlying technologies and how they can be applied to achieve business benefit. Alessandro is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and Rhodes University with a Honours Degree in Information Systems.
He is currently the founding director of Lightblue Cognitive Solutions an Artificial Intelligence boutique consultancy and software solutions IT Start-up.
Alessandro was the sales and delivery lead for IBM Global Business Services Consulting in the Western Cape based in Cape Town and has previously held the positions of IBM Global Business Services Cognitive (Artificial Intelligence) lead for Middle East & Africa and prior to that was the Service Line Lead for the IBM Business Analytics and Optimisation (Analytics, Data Warehousing & Information Management) practice for South Africa based out of Johannesburg.
